Resolve Water Ingress and Crankshaft Play

 

We now offer an upgrade for all Bosch Gen 4 motors. This includes the following:

* motor is disassembled and the crankshaft assembly removed
* plastic crankshaft bushes are replaced to stabilise crank play
* original torque tube sealing ring is removed and replaced with an oilite self-lubricating bronze bush, fitted for maximum crankshaft support and minmise crankshaft play. This stops the crankshaft oscillation and provides superior and reliable sealing
* a single-lip rotary shaft seal is fitted to stop water ingress

* we replace the l/h crankshaft bearing with a double-sealed bearing

* PCB is removed and the plug assembly seal is coated with silicone

* silicone gasket sealant is added to the main motor cover gasket

* di-electric grease is applied to electric socket pins to limit corrosion

 

All these upgrades reduce crankshaft play, prevents water ingress which results in corrosion damage to the crankshaft bearing surface, and stops premature failure of the crankshaft support bushes... and prevents internal damage to the printed circuit board (PCB) and all other components. The "double-sealed" left-hand crankshaft bearing prevents water ingress into or through this bearing. Additionally, we pack a specialist waterproof long-life grease between the outer bearings and the motor covers... this prevents water sitting in these areas and seeping into the outer bearings.

The price covers all the upgrades and works listed above, and is based on a motor being received in good working order, with no other parts or repairs required.
